Dr. Gary Motykie, a board certified Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon, talked on this subject on the Marie Show!

Each individual is born with a skin type that is marked by unique genetic characteristics. In most cases, the skin is naturally healthy and youthful. However, the way an individual looks after his or her skin can make a key difference to the skin’s current condition. Skin cleansing is one of the most primary aspects of good health and well-being because skin is the largest and the most exposed part of the body.

It is important to cleanse the skin thoroughly every day. Skin care products are more effective when the skin is exfoliated for better absorption. Exfoliation may be achieved mechanically by massaging the skin gently and also naturally through enzymes that eat away the old skin cells in the outer skin layer.

A large variety of skin care products is available in the market. Some of these products can cost several hundred dollars, while some others may even cost thousands of dollars. If an individual is aware of the right ingredients that the skin needs, it is possible to achieve the same results by choosing less expensive products which contain the required ingredients.

Important Skin Care Ingredients

When buying a suitable skin care product, people should look for the following ingredients:

Many skin care products contain this ingredient because it is known to have a significant effect on the signs of aging. DMAE provides protection against skill cell damage that may occur due to sun exposure and environmental hazards. This ingredient stimulates the production of collagen in the skin, and has a tendency to make the skin firmer on contact. The Best of Perricone, costing around $95 is one of the products with DMAE.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is recognized as a vital promoter of natural collagen, antioxidant, and a moisturizer. This ingredient is also a key part of cosmetic fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm. Several anti-wrinkle lotions and creams also contain hyaluronic acid. Products such as Peter Thomas Roth Viz-1000 at $65 and Fresh Rose Hyrdrating Gel Cream at $42 contain this ingredient.

This ingredient can be compared with Botox to a lesser extent. Argireline is not an injectable treatment like Botox, but it is a cream to be applied over wrinkled skin. This ingredient works by blocking neurotransmitters, just like Botox, and allows the overactive facial muscles to relax. This results in fading away of wrinkles and fine lines. Products such as First Aid Beauty (FAB) Dual Repair Face Cream at $44 and First Aid Beauty Dual Repair Eye Cream at $40 contain Argireline.

Matrixyl supports growth of proteins such as collagen and elastin, which are responsible for skin tightness and elasticity. When collagen and elastin break down with age or other factors, wrinkles and loose skin occur. Boscia Bright White Mask at $38 and Hourglass Fluid Makeup at $60 are two products containing this ingredient.

Tried and True Retinols

These skin rejuvenation ingredients can be found in products such as Kate Somerville Hydrating Face Serum, Philosophy “Help Me,” Dr. Brandt R3P Cream and Laura Mercier Repair Eye Serum.

A Vampire Facelift Defined

This cosmetic procedure offers a unique combination of restoration of skin elasticity as well as improvement in skin tone and texture. As a part of this procedure, the doctor will first draw a small quantity of blood from the patient and isolate platelets by using a centrifugal force mechanism. This activates the platelets to release growth factors that can heal damaged tissue.

These growth factors are then injected into the affected areas of the face. This causes the multi-potent stem cells to become activated to produce new tissue growth. The outcome of this process is the appearance of rejuvenated and younger looking skin. The effects of this treatment may last for anywhere between nine months and two years.

While advanced cosmetic treatments are a sure way to help you achieve the desired younger look, but sometimes you may even combine your cosmetic treatment with natural diet. If you are a strong believer in the use of natural ingredients to improve your cosmetic appearance, there may be no harm in it, as long as you do it under professional supervision.

Foods Rich in Antioxidants

You can choose certain natural products that are known to have a high content of antioxidants. These antioxidants may provide natural benefits for your health, well-being, and physical appearance. Some of the common antioxidant-rich foods include blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, garbanzo beans, white beans, kidney beans, artichokes, and prunes.

You may even opt for certain antioxidant supplements such as milk thistle extract, which has been used for centuries as a health boosting product. Bacopa extract can help as a critical free-radical scavenger. Another herb called “ashwagandha” is known to provide support to a healthy immune system. Turmeric extract and green tea extract also include key antioxidants.

Protandim with Nrf2

Another useful supplement is Protandim with Nrf2. This compound is known to fight oxidative stress and help in regulating the body functions. It is a protein messenger, which binds with DNA, and helps fight against oxidative stress and regulates the body’s aging process. Nrf2 establishes communication with the cells, and instructs them to perform the function they are designed to perform.

When Nrf2 is activated, it enters the cell’s nucleus and up-regulates survival genes. These are the genes that help cells survive the challenge from free radicals and other oxidants. Nrf2 also down-regulates other genes that may promote fibrosis and inflammation. This allows the body to perform at optimal levels.

Cosmetic Treatment with 3DEEP™ RF Technology

The brief video below provides an animation of 3DEEP RF technology in action.  For more details on this unique, proprietary technology for effective aesthetic treatments, click here.

3DEEP™ is a proprietary radio frequency based technology by EndyMed. This state of the art technology is safe and effective for skin treatment. It releases multi-source radio frequency energy in controlled phases to achieve the desired impact in a safe manner. 3DEEP™ is one of the latest RF-based professional skin treatment technologies.

3DEEP™ employs advanced software programs to control and manage the different phases of energy flowing to the skin. This allows for controlled delivery of heat into the skin’s deeper layers, without damaging the upper dermis. This technique eliminates the risk of side effects and avoids any need for cooling. In comparison to bipolar or monopolar RF techniques, 3DEEP™ RF penetrates deeper into the skin.

Monopolar or unipolar RF technology cannot control the flow of energy into the skin. This can cause pain and the process must be accompanied by intense cooling. Bipolar and X-polar RF technology is relatively less efficient because the radio frequency energy flows superficially. This also requires cooling during the procedure to protect the skin.

Results with 3DEEP™ are more visible and tangible. The technique can be applied for various medical and cosmetic purposes, including skin tightening, non-ablative or micro ablative skin rejuvenation, acne scar treatment, and body contouring. The treatment is almost entirely painless in most cases. Treatment can be delivered according to personalized parameters.

Say Goodbye to Stubborn Fat

It’s called stubborn fat for a reason: no matter how much you eat healthy and exercise, it’s virtually impossible to lose those annoying muffin tops, love handles, and belly pooch. You’re left with two options: live with them or think surgery. Neither is cool by us. That’s exactly why we developed CoolSculpting. Only CoolSculpting targets fat cells alone, eliminating them in an easy, non-intrusive fashion that exercise and diet can’t achieve as quickly or as effectively.

The Cool Solution is the More Natural Solution

Procedures that use laser, sonic waves and even surgery to remove fat can actually destroy other tissue in the process by burning, shattering or extracting non-fat cells. This requires downtime for your body to heal. Totally uncool. Fortunately, CoolSculpting doesn’t burn, shatter or extract any cells. Developed by Harvard scientists, our unique, FDA-cleared, patented procedure uses a targeted cooling process that kills the fat cells underneath the skin, literally freezing them to the point of elimination. Only fat cells are frozen. Your healthy skin cells remain, well, healthy. No knives. No suction hoses. No needles. No scars. Once crystallized, the fat cells die and are naturally eliminated from your body. In a few months, boom: say hello to a new you.
